Upper Austrian Ball: The countdown has begun

Upper Austrian Ball: The countdown has begun

Around 3,000 guests are expected on Saturday for the 121st Upper Austrian Ball in the festively decorated Vienna City Hall.

The day after tomorrow it will be that time again: for the 121st time, Vienna City Hall will be the stronghold of Upper Austrians for one night. The Goldhauben group from Wolfern and the Landleben Alberndorf association will also be dancing and celebrating. They won 20 tickets for the Upper Austrians’ ball in the association’s campaign, including travel to and from the ball by bus.

Celebrate together in Vienna

“I actually only wanted to buy tickets for myself,” says Martina Mayr-Obermann from the Goldhaubengruppe Wolfern. Instead, she entered the competition – and was successful. “Now we’re going together. Everyone says it’s such a beautiful ball – I’m really looking forward to experiencing it myself.” The bus to Vienna will be full. “And maybe we’ll meet a few familiar faces at the ball. It’s a small world,” she says and laughs.

In Alberndorf, the anticipation is also great: “My mom has already been to the Upper Austria Ball twice, this is my first time,” says local farmer Christa Ahroner, who registered her Landleben Alberndorf club for the competition. “I didn’t believe we would win. We were really happy and are already very excited about the ball.”

Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) will also not miss the opportunity to enjoy the short-term Upper Austrian enclave in Vienna to the fullest: “I am looking forward to welcoming many guests and celebrating a wonderful ball night.”

“Are you coming?”

Anyone who wants to “experience an evening with good music and good entertainment”, as ball ambassador and sprinter Susanne Gogl-Walli puts it, still has a chance to be there: those who decide quickly can still buy tickets at oberoesterreicherball.at/ballkarten – OÖNcard holders pay ten euros less. Tickets are also still available on Saturday at the evening box office directly in the town hall.
