Flooded cellars, small-scale flooding and fallen trees: around 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, 20 fire departments across the country were busy dealing with the damage from the storm front. The districts affected were Gmunden, Kirchdorf, Steyr-Land and Steyr-Stadt.
Overall, however, the forecast indicated that more operations would be required, according to the State Fire Brigade Association. The operations are manageable and are currently being handled by the individual fire departments.
A reported fire, to which four fire departments were alerted, turned out to be a solstice fire.
The central area, the Mühlviertel and large parts of the Innviertel were largely spared from damage.
