Using a forklift, the 56-year-old had positioned the bag with the granulate above the 1.60-meter-high funnel and, according to the police, climbed over the forklift onto the funnel to slit open the bag – whereupon the entire 800 kilos of granulate from the bag rained down on the man and buried him.
Colleagues noticed the accident and came to the North Macedonian’s aid. They also managed to dig him out – but the man was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital by rescue helicopter after receiving first aid.
