Two hikers from the Czech Republic, aged 33 and 34, went on a mountain tour together on Saturday. The conditions were good and the weather was fantastic.

The tour started in the Weißenbach district. The summit of the Dachsteinblick was climbed via the Mahdlschneid. The descent was via the marked Brennerriesensteig hiking trail. In a steep section, the 33-year-old stumbled and fell forward, according to the police. Trees and bushes were able to stop the fall after a few meters.

Due to her injuries, the hiker was no longer able to descend. A 49-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district joined the two women – he took care of the injured woman and called the emergency services.

An emergency helicopter was able to bring the injured woman down to the valley with the help of a rope at around 6:40 p.m. The 33-year-old was then flown to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Vöcklabruck.
