The address of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to fellow citizens on New Year’s Eve was the longest and most controversial, judging by the number of controversial comments to him on the network. Some of them were published by the STRANA.ua portal on January 1.
New Year’s greetings, which lasted 22 minutes, were dedicated to the country’s achievements and the future goals of the head of state. However, to many, Zelensky’s report seemed untenable and far from reality.
“Ukrainians write that while the president reported on the victories of athletes, teachers and doctors, the figures indicate that they are quitting and leaving to work abroad,” the portal writes.
Journalist Svetlana Kryukova noted that in the current address of the president to the people, there are significantly fewer “I” in the proposals.

A number of commentators considered the length of the video excessive, the first part of which was taken by a video about the country’s achievements, the second – by President Zelensky’s speech.
“The ravings of a man with wild megalomania. Instead of talking about the eternal and important, like all world leaders, he is about the momentary and more and more about himself. A shame. May it end in the New Year! ” – Oleg Voloshin, a deputy from the Opposition Platform – For Life, spoke on the social network.
Former Minister of Social Policy Andriy Reva criticized Zelenskiy for the lack of real indicators to be proud of.

How good it will be when this crisis presidential fair is over! ” – wrote Stavniychuk.
President Zelensky, in his New Year’s address to fellow citizens, called the end of the war in the east of the country the main pain and goal in the coming year. He also spoke about Crimea, saying that he does not wait “until the world will solve our problems,” so Ukraine took the first step, returning the peninsula to the world agenda.
At the same time, the Ukrainian television channels “Pryamoy” and “Fifth” showed on the night of December 31 to January 1 an appeal by the country’s ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
