This Monday, the Electoral Court reported that so far it has checked some 341,406 signatures of the 430,023 that were presented by the union center. Of the total, some 247,462 were accepted, while some 82,229 were rejected, so there are still 28,689 signatures left to reach the percentage of the electoral roll necessary to hold a plebiscite.


The percentage reached so far by the union center is 8.9611% of the 10% of those authorized to vote necessary, that is, about 276,151 citizens.
In the Electoral Court they maintain that, if the current pace of ballot verification is maintained, on Friday the union could reach the 10% necessary to achieve the plebiscite.
Differences in strokes explain most rejections
In the breakdown of the rejected signaturesthe vast majority, some 41,396, are due to the lines not matching, while another 23,737 lack complete data.
In turn, some 14,402 signatures were rejected for “multiple” reasons; some 1,372 people were excluded from the electoral roll; some 363 were “canceled”; some 320 people were missing their signatures; 302 were minors; 276 were disqualified by the Electoral Court; while 1 person was not found in the registry.
Currently, some 11,715 signatures are in process, of which 11,425 are for tracking; 197 for registration comparison and another 93 for the resolution of the supervisors. This Monday, 11,062 signatures were studied, and a total of 7,254 were accepted, that is, 65.6% of them.
