A friendly word doesn’t cost much, but it’s worth a lot. Linz Tourism is dedicating its campaign this year to friendliness, which managing director Marie-Louise Schnurpfeil presented yesterday. For a few days now, ten lucky boxes have been available around the city, from which you can take friendly messages. In addition, compliment cards and three short spots have been created in which friendly interaction is promoted.
More on the subject: More than one million overnight stays in Linz for the first time
This fits in with Linz Tourism, which likes to take advertising messages to people off the beaten track. Accordingly, this year tourists and locals alike are being made aware, in a light-hearted and relaxed manner, that it is better to build a relationship with a smile than with grumpy ignorance.
The good tone
Good tone makes the music, and this motto (the tone is preceded by “an”) also draws a connection to Anton Bruckner and his anniversary year with many events. Linz certainly does not have the image of an unfriendly city among tourists, says Schnurpfeil. But more smiles when meeting guests can never hurt.
