The Frente Amplio leaves aside the controversy over the economic team and focuses on the internal ones

The internal situation within the Broad Front seemed to have warmed up to the differences over possible names of the eventual head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), eventual head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF): since in the Yamandú Orsi campaign the economist and former partner of CPA Ferrere, Gabriel Odonne, while the ranks of Carolina Cosse, where people drive Pablo Ferreri as a candidate for the position, a possibility that is not very popular in some sectors.

However, the member of the precandidate’s economic team defused the controversy and assured that the party has only one government program and the focus is on Sunday’s elections. “He Wide Front has a single government program and based on that program we have prepared concrete proposals and that is how we will work,” he assured.

“Starting July 1, there will be a formula in which the Frente Amplio will define the order, among Carolina Cosse and Yamandu Orsi, starting on the night of the 30th and then we will all work together,” he added.

In that sense, Ferrari assured that it draws his attention that the ruling party accuses the Wide Front of having two different economic criteria when they do not even have a single government program. “You can’t say for sure what line you’ll follow after July 1 because it depends on who wins,” he commented.

Expectation for names

The Broad Front senator and member of the Communist Party, Oscar Andradequestioned that the Wide Front He should not focus on shuffling names for a possible economy minister but rather on concentrating on the discussion of the government program.

“What I can do is set up a barbecue with Mario, Pacha Juan and tell them ‘gentlemen, if the candidates are not throwing out names, are we going to start handling names?’” Andrade said in Desayunos Informales. “It’s not Juan Castillo the one who has to solve, nor me. Those who have to resolve the name of the proposed candidate for Minister of Economy is Yamandu or Carolina. And neither Yamandú nor Carolina have decided that it is time to present the name of the Minister of Economy,” added the senator.

“The Front appears as a favorite, but all scenarios are open. It seems to me that you have to concentrate on the discussion of the program. I am not going to concentrate on the hypothesis of setting up a cabinet, it is not time. And furthermore, it creates space for the chicane, that suddenly the opposition comes out to say that a gigantic problem has arisen,” he remarked.

Yamandú’s opinion on Oddone

Regarding the possibility that Gabriel Oddone take over as economy minister in the event that the Frente Amplio wins the elections, the pre-candidate assured that names have not yet been defined and that people like the senator Mario Bergara the former minister Fernando Lorenzo or the economist Martin Vallcorba, resonate within the possibilities.

However, he did not hesitate to defend Oddone against questions from parties such as the Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU) and ruled out that the economist is not from the left.

“I lost the left-wing meter. I had it and one day I lost it because one day I realized that it was out of focus, it was poorly calibrated,” he said and added: “Guys like that, who are left-wing, I always love them.” .
