Michaela Heider is a bit more active on social media than her partner Vincent Kriechmayr, who tries to keep his private life as private as possible. A few weeks ago, the 28-year-old Styrian, who ended her career after the last Ski World Cup season, hinted with pictures of the rumbling that the big day was approaching.
Now the time had come. “It’s official,” wrote Heider on Instagram and posted a black-and-white photo showing her in her wedding dress and her sweetheart from Gramastetten in traditional costume.
The two, who have been a couple for years, have tied the knot. Anyone who clicked on the post could hear Everly Fair’s “I Love You Always Forever”.
The 32-year-old Kriechmayr was crowned double world champion in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2021, and he still has a lot planned for his active career: in 2025, the home World Championships will take place in Saalbach, and in 2026 the Winter Olympics in Italy are on the program.
Heider was considered to be the ÖSV’s young hope in the alpine and freestyle areas. In 2012, she won gold in ski cross at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Later, she would focus on the speed disciplines of downhill and super-G. However, injuries repeatedly prevented her from making the leap to the extended world elite.
All that is in the past. Right now the sky is full of violins. The OÖN wishes Heider and Kriechmayr all the best for their future together. Congratulations!
