8 million euros in debt: Linz textile retailer insolvent

22 employees and around 90 creditors are affected.

The Linz-based Texspo Textil- und SportartikelgroßhandelsgmbH is insolvent. On Friday, restructuring proceedings without self-administration were opened at the Linz Regional Court, as announced by the credit protection associations Creditreform, Alpenländischer Kreditorenverband (AKV) and KSV1870. According to the information, 22 employees and around 90 creditors are affected by the insolvency.

Founded in 2006

According to Texspo, liabilities of around 8 million euros are outstanding and assets amount to 2.77 million euros. The company, which was founded in 2006 and operates under the brand GTS Sports, acts as a full-service provider in the areas of outdoor clothing, nautical, cycling, skiing and fitness.

The company has cited the change or reduction in consumer behavior among the population since inflation as the main reason for bankruptcy. The restructuring plan provides for a creditor ratio of 20 percent within two years.
