Two men (23,28) from the Linz-Land district were caught on March 19, 2024, handing over a kilogram of cocaine to a buyer in the city of Leonding. During a house search, investigators found another 450 grams of the drug.
During further investigations, the police were able to prove that together they had circulated almost 1.5 kilograms of cocaine (street value 90,000 euros). A 36-year-old Albanian was in charge of this.
The three accused came to Austria solely to sell narcotics and were not officially registered. Only intensive investigations led the criminal investigators to the accommodation. The police also proved that the 36-year-old had distributed a further almost 800 grams of cocaine since 2020.
The 23-year-old and the 28-year-old confessed during their interrogations. They are being held in the Linz prison. The 36-year-old is currently still on the run. A Europe-wide arrest warrant has been issued against him.
