A 4-year-old and his 6-year-old brother were playing in the bedroom of the apartment in Weyer on Monday at around 1 p.m. When their 26-year-old mother went to the toilet, the younger son probably climbed from the bed onto the windowsill. The window was open and a fly screen was installed. The boy probably leaned on it, but it didn’t hold. He fell about 9 meters down onto the asphalt.

The mother heard her son screaming and immediately ran to him in front of the apartment building. With the child in her arms, she ran to relatives, who alerted the emergency services. After receiving first aid, the boy was flown to the Kepler University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
