LASK’s Raiffeisen Arena becomes a playground for top clubs

The Turkish champions Galatasaray Istanbul will play five times in Linz.

LINZ. From July 11th, the LASK Raiffeisen Arena will become a playground for top international clubs: In the “Summer Series Upper Austria”, the Italian Serie A clubs Lecce and Parma, the German second division team Düsseldorf and the Slovakian club Trencin will play in Linz to warm up for the coming season. The kick-off will be reserved for LASK, who will play against the Turkish champions Galatasaray Istanbul on July 11th (7.30 p.m.).

Curiously, LASK is practically a guest in their own stadium, organized by the MatchPR agency. Galatasaray will then play against Düsseldorf (15 July), Trencin (18 July), Lecce (24 July) and Parma (27 July), with LASK’s season opening match against St. Pölten (20 July) taking place in between.

“The fact that several internationally renowned clubs are coming to our state is of great importance both for us as LASK and for the entire region,” said LASK managing director Siegmund Gruber. “The Raiffeisen Arena serves as the perfect stage to provide a worthy setting for the games.” On Tuesday, LASK will play a friendly against Romanian first division club CFR Cluj (5 p.m.). As usual, no spectators are allowed in Pasching.
