The coordinators highlighted the “programmatic consistency” in the proposals of both candidates, and detailed some coincidences between the programs such as the cost of living, employment, educational transformation and state reforms. “The harmony is very clear, in some cases emphasis will have to be placed and this will serve to enrich, but we hardly detected any issues that need to be settled,” he explained. Iturralde, who assured that it will be a very good process.
In this regard, the team representatives announced that by the end of the month the objective is to have the unique program of the National Party.
A formula that generated controversy
The decision of the winner of the primaries generated several clashes within the National Party where some referents questioned Valeria Ripoll as a vice presidential candidate, knowing that Laura Raffo She had come second in the election results, although far behind Delgado.
Regarding this, the representatives of both parties assured that “there is no need to smooth out any differences” within the party. “Our programs are similar and are based on the pride of the government we are running. This is about the second floor, the second wave of transformations, while regarding values and principles we are in absolute agreement,” said Arlegui.
Meanwhile, they talked about Ripoll’s influence on Delgado’s program regarding an issue that the vice presidential candidate has been highlighting lately: childhoods and disability. In this regard, Iturralde stated that these two problems are among the president’s proposals and commented that Ripoll had been part of the technical team that dealt with the issue of disability.
“The issue of disability had a very relevant space, it had the creation of the Secretariat for Disability in the Presidency and in fact, Valeria Ripoll “I was involved in the technical teams that worked on the issue,” added Iturralde.
