The first fire brigades were alerted at around 7 p.m. The emergency services were busy dealing with numerous fallen trees, flooding and security operations. The Inn and Hausruck districts in particular were in high activity from around 7.30 p.m. Later, the fire brigades were also increasingly in constant use in the central area and in the Mühlviertel.

The state warning center had been reinforced with personnel in order to be prepared for the expected flood of emergency calls. An initial assessment: 175 fire departments with around 2550 emergency personnel were busy on 200 missions. At the same time, 15 fire departments had to respond to a building fire in Herzogsdorf (Urfahr-Umgebung district). A few kilometers away in St. Martin im Mühlkreis, eleven fire departments had already been called to a fire in the afternoon.
Storms with wind speeds of around 100 km/h were not uncommon. According to UBIMET, 105 km/h were measured in Wolfsegg am Hausruck, 100 km/h in Enns, 98 km/h in Vöcklabruck and 96 km/h in Wels.
At the Electric Love Festival at the Salzburgring, the campsite was cleared. The main area was secured and the last day of the festival could only begin with some delay.

In the evening, a search for people was carried out on the Salzach in the Bavarian border area near Hochburg-Ach, with a fire brigade from Upper Austria using a work boat.
