At first, the 51-year-old homeowner tried to put out the fire himself, but without success. He then called the fire department.

The fire was visible from afar due to the heavy smoke. When the fire brigade arrived, it was already ablaze. They immediately began to fight the fire with several C-hoses. Due to the location of the house, which was at the end of a dead end street right next to a forest, access and coordination of the arriving fire brigades was a particular challenge.

Fortunately, with combined forces, the fire was successfully prevented from spreading to the forest. No one was injured in the fire.

A total of 15 fire departments with 196 men were deployed. The fire was declared out at around 11:45 p.m.
