The pig trough race, organized by the “Mühlviertler Ursprungsbewegung” (MUB), is one of the recurring highlights in Schwertberg’s summer event calendar. On Saturday, the rustic race on the Aist was once again a visitor magnet. With fantastic weather and the idyllic backdrop of Schwertberg Park, not only the participants but also the spectators got their money’s worth, as there was plenty of fun and action to be experienced in the individual races. Full physical effort was used to fight for every centimeter and every hundredth of a second. In the end, the Poneggen fire brigade team prevailed – as in previous years – and snagged the highly coveted traveling trough as a trophy.
