“There are two types of corporate culture – the blessers and the confessors,” says Robert Seeger Jr., online marketing expert in a podcast interview with Elisabeth Eidenberger on “Club der Cleveren”. There are companies in which everything always has to be approved by the top management before anything is implemented. Decisions take a long time, many ideas fall victim to the hierarchy and are not even addressed.
And then there are companies where management gives the teams free rein. “They are allowed to implement things with a lot of freedom – and if something goes wrong, they have to admit it afterwards. But you know: people are much more likely to forgive than to allow things to happen beforehand,” says the expert. Especially in online marketing, it is important to be brave and try things out.
But this “trying things out” requires a certain amount of perseverance. “It’s not enough to post something once or record a few podcast episodes to be able to judge whether it works or not,” says the Graz native. Those who are really successful stick with it for a long time.
