Trump was speaking this Saturday afternoon at Pennsylvania when several shots were heard, unleashing terror among those present. Security rushed towards the candidate to protect him, although a bullet hit him in the neck. The images show him bleeding, although he is apparently out of danger.
Donald Trump is safe and protective measures have been put in place around him following an incident at a campaign rally for the former US president on Saturday in Pennsylvania, the Secret Service said.
“This is now an active Secret Service investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available,” the Secret Service said in a post on X.
Multiple gunshots rang out at Trump’s rally, with the Republican presidential candidate grimacing and raising his right hand to his right ear as the explosions sounded, video footage showed.
Bodyguards then crowded around Trump, who crouched beneath the podium, and armed officers took up positions at the front of the stage. The billionaire repeatedly raised his fist toward the crowd and shouted as he was escorted to a vehicle by the U.S. Secret Service.

CNN reported that Trump had been injured, but did not provide further details. It was not clear how or what injuries he might have suffered. Video showed him with blood on his right ear and the right side of his face.
Armed law enforcement officers were also seen on a rooftop near the stage where Trump was standing.
The venue was deserted, with chairs overturned and yellow police tape around the stage. A helicopter hovered overhead and police officers walked around.

President Joe Biden received an initial briefing on the incident, the White House said.
Trump and Biden are locked in a tight election rematch, with most opinion polls, including the Reuters/Ipsos poll, showing them neck and neck.
Biden has faced backlash within his own party following a disastrous debate performance against the former president just over two weeks ago.
Trump, president from 2017 to 2021, easily prevailed over his rivals for the Republican nomination early in the campaign and has largely unified around him the party, which had briefly wavered in support after his supporters attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to overturn his defeat in the previous year’s election.
