The US president has suspended his election campaign following the assassination of his Republican rival Donald Trump.
Joe Biden’s presidential campaign has been suspended following the attack on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. “The Biden campaign is pausing all outbound communications and working to pull our television ads as quickly as possible,” a campaign official said, according to the AP.
The president made the statement after his Republican opponent Donald Trump was injured in a shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, the White House said Saturday.
“I’m grateful to hear that he is safe and doing well,” Biden said in a statement, adding that he was “praying for him, his family, and all those who were at the rally, as we await more information.”There is no place for this kind of violence in the United States. We must stand together as one nation to condemn it,” he added.
