Once again, a small child has fallen out of an open window and was seriously injured. According to the Upper Austrian State Police Directorate, the accident happened in the municipality of Niederthalheim in the district of Vöcklabruck.

Hit asphalt
In a single-family home, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy climbed over a couch onto the windowsill on the first floor in an unobserved moment and fell out of the open window. The toddler fell four meters and hit the asphalt.
The mother was caring for her other infant child when the fall occurred.

By helicopter to the hospital
A crew from the “Martin 3” emergency helicopter stationed in Scharnstein brought the seriously injured toddler to Linz. There he was treated in the intensive care unit at Medcampus 4 (children’s clinic).
Only two weeks ago, a four-year-old fell from a second-floor window in Weyer (Steyr-Land district). On April 2, a five-year-old boy in Linz, who was home alone, opened a window, fell out and died from his injuries.
