According to court information, the guilty verdict is not final. The defendant is said to have broken into his ex-partner’s apartment in Traismauer (St. Pölten district) in January and attacked the woman’s 25-year-old new partner with a knife.
The attack took place on the evening of January 10th. The accused Austrian citizen is believed to have had a key to the apartment. The victim, who was attacked with a knife he had brought with him, suffered several stab wounds and was flown to hospital by emergency helicopter. The 25-year-old’s life was initially in danger.

The accused was taken to hospital in Krems with cuts and was also arrested. The ex-partner was not injured in the attack. She got to safety in time and called the emergency services.
