Shopping even when the store is closed

“Our self-service market is a great addition to our community, especially for people who want to shop during our lunch breaks or outside of regular opening hours,” says Markus Stubauer. The ADEG merchant from Maria Neustift has expanded his local grocery store to include a self-service service: “Since the opening a month ago, it has been going very well and has been extremely well received by customers.”

Modern and traditional

Specifically, Stubauer offers the opportunity to purchase some of his goods outside of opening hours. The small self-service store, which covers an area of ​​38 square meters, is open Monday to Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., as well as on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays and public holidays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. A wide range of products is available, from food to hygiene products. Access to the store is only possible with a debit card, and payment is made at an electronic cash register. Stubauer is thus demonstrating how modern technology and traditional local service can be successfully combined.

ADEG has been operating under the umbrella of Rewe Großhandel GmbH since October 2022. Around 2,300 employees work at around 400 locations in Austria.
