Bolivian prosecutors charge drug trafficker Sebastián Marset with money laundering

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Bolivia charged last Tuesday the drug trafficker Sebastian Marseta fugitive from international justice since July 2023, for the crime of money laundering and announced that the hearing on precautionary measures will be next Wednesday 24th.

The prosecutor in charge of the Controlled Substances Unit, Jose Luis Floresinformed the media city of Santa Cruz that the charge was filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office against Sebastian Marset for the crime of “laundering illicit profits.”

The Uruguayan drug lord has been on the run since July 29, 2023, when Bolivian authorities carried out an arrest operation in Santa Cruz, from which he managed to escape. Marset is accused of leading an international drug trafficking criminal network and is also wanted by the Justice Department.
