At around 2 a.m., the 17 and 24-year-old Slovakian citizens from the Steyr-Land and Amstetten districts are said to have entered a garage in Linz. According to current knowledge, they are said to have smashed the side windows of two cars and stolen cell phones from them.
Then they are said to have stolen the convertible that was parked there – the key was in the car, according to police. Two cars are said to have been damaged when they pulled out of the parking space.
Ominous third man at the wheel
It is said that another man, who is still unknown, was behind the wheel during the subsequent joyride. In the area of the Wildbergstrasse stop, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed the ticket machine at the stop in the direction of the university. The digital display was also mown down.
