According to Philipp Gutlederer from Notruf NÖ, six children and two adults were affected. A large number of helpers were deployed. A van is believed to have crashed, and the exact circumstances of the accident are under investigation.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. in the direction of Nickelsdorf. According to Gutlederer, three emergency medical helicopters – Christophorus 3 and 9 and Martin 5 – and several rescue vehicles were called. After receiving treatment on site, the patients were transported to hospitals in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, reported Gutlederer.

A traffic jam of several kilometers formed on the A4. Details of the accident and the identities of the people involved were not yet available to the Lower Austria State Police Directorate on Friday evening.
