German Foreign Ministry commented on the procession in honor of Bandera in Ukraine

The German Foreign Ministry condemns the crimes committed by Ukrainian nationalists, including those under the leadership of Stepan Bandera, during World War II. This was announced on January 5 by the representative of the Foreign Ministry Christopher Burger.

This is how the diplomat commented on the march in honor of the nationalist Stepan Bandera, which took place in Kiev on January 1.

As he noted during the briefing, Berlin “condemns and against any form of anti-Semitism and glorification of Nazi crimes.” Germany also condemns the crimes committed by Ukrainian nationalists, including under the leadership of Bandera, against civilians.

“A significant part of these crimes, this must be remembered, was committed in collaboration with the German occupation forces,” the German Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

On January 1, Ukrainian nationalists held a torchlight procession in honor of the 113th anniversary of the birth of Nazi accomplices Stepan Bandera in Kiev. A crowd with placards, slogans and flags marched from Shevchenko Park to the office of the Ukrainian president.

According to the national police, 3.5 thousand people took part in the processions across the country.

As the head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov pointed out, this action of the nationalists is a demonstration of the Nazi essence of the Kiev regime, which is destroying Ukraine and is generally unsuitable for state building.

On January 2, Senator Alexei Pushkov said that Ukraine apparently has no other historical heroes, except for officers who served in SS units and fought against the USSR.
