The campaign chief of the “Our Venezuela” command, Jorge Rodriguez, He denounced the opposition’s intention to “delegitimize the upcoming elections through a media campaign and the use of bots instead of votes.”

Rodriguez said that “when someone calls fraud before the end of the electoral event, it is because they already know they have lost.”He also criticized the articles in the mainstream media, accusing them of “selling impartial polls that are part of a plan to publish biased data in international media.” According to the campaign manager, they are seeking to create the perception that the national government will lose the elections, preparing the ground to question the results when they are announced.

“They are trying to impose a situation that is not the result of the electoral machines,” said Rodriguez, who maintained that this “is part of a strategy for the United States to continue imposing sanctions on the Venezuelan people.” He also stressed that the news in the international media seeks to create the idea of a defeat of the national government and then, on the afternoon of July 28, to claim fraud and pressure so that the election results are not recognized.

In addition, Rodríguez questioned the opposition’s participation in the electoral process if they have already stated that they will not recognize the results: “Why do they participate if they are not going to recognize the electoral process itself?” he asked.

Regarding the electoral prospects, the campaign manager assured that the surveys and polls show that Nicolás Maduro has between 15 and 20 points of difference with respect to the other nine candidates. He affirmed that, as in the recent electoral campaign in Mexico, where media such as CNN showed the Morena candidate in second place and she finally won by a wide margin, “we are seeing an increase in the amount of negative news about the Venezuelan situation in the major international media.”

“They will not recognize the election results, because instead of looking for votes and getting them, they prefer to rely on bots and lies to then install violence,” Rodríguez said. Finally, the campaign manager ratified his confidence in the Venezuelan electoral system and assured that the “Venezuela Nuestra” command will declare victory “once the National Electoral Council announces the results.”
