A 41-year-old motorcyclist from the Weiz district drove his unregistered motocross bike onto the left side of the road in a right-hand bend near Stubenberg am See (Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district) on Friday evening, fell and crashed into the car of an oncoming 48-year-old Styrian man. The fire brigade, Red Cross and the emergency doctor from the C16 rescue helicopter tried to resuscitate the man, but were unsuccessful, police said on Saturday.

The 48-year-old driver and his passenger were uninjured. Investigations into the exact circumstances are still ongoing and the car and motorcycle have also been confiscated.
