The emergency services were alerted to the harbor area of Lake Attersee in Kammer at around 3:30 a.m. An 18-year-old from Seewalchen had disappeared after a party and his friends feared that he might have fallen into the lake. The youth had previously joked about jumping into the lake.

The fire brigade and water rescue team immediately started a search operation with several boats. “After about 45 minutes we were able to find the missing person in the area of Schloss Kammer,” said the commander of the Schörfling fire brigade, Daniel Ennser, in an interview with OÖNachrichten. The youth had previously been in the water and then fought his way back to the shore on his own. When he was found, the young man was very drunk. According to the police, he wanted to go swimming and did not believe that anyone would look for him.
The Schörfling fire brigade was deployed with 15 men. The water rescue service, the Red Cross and the police also helped with the search.
