A company outing ended in hospital for a 21-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district. According to the police report, the young woman was swimming with several colleagues at the Gleinkersee in Roßleithen (Kirchdorf an der Krems district) when the accident occurred.
Rescue helicopter in action
When she tried to swing into the lake using a rope that was attached to a tree above the shore, the woman lost her strength. She could not hold on to the rope long enough and fell backwards from a height of about two to three meters onto a tree root at the edge of the shore.
The 21-year-old sustained such serious injuries that she had to be taken to the hospital in Wels by rescue helicopter.
