There will be delays at the Bindermichl tunnel on the Linz city motorway (A7) over the next three weekends. The reason for this is a construction site covering a total of 1.3 kilometers. A new surface is being applied here, which should lead to greater traffic safety through more grip, according to ASFINAG.
Only one lane in each direction during the night hours
For road users, this means that from next weekend, from Friday, July 26 (from 8 p.m.) to Monday, July 29 (until 4:30 a.m.), work will be carried out in the tunnel day and night, which will cause disruption. “During the weekend, one lane in each direction will be closed for the work during the day, and at night only one lane in each direction will be open to traffic,” says Alexander Holzedl from ASFINAG.
The locks in detail
In addition, the paving work also affects the junctions in the Bindermichl area.
- This means that the northbound on- and off-ramp at the Muldenstraße junction will not be available next weekend.
- However, the entrance and exit towards the city center in Bindermichl will remain open to traffic, and the entrance and exit towards the south will not be affected.
- In addition, the northbound ramp at the Salzburger Straße junction must be closed. There is a diversion for trucks via the Franzosenhausweg junction, which is clearly signposted on site.
- At the Wiener Straße junction, both southbound entrances will also be closed next weekend.
