Harris’ campaign managers are keen to use this image: The new color of Harris’ campaign account on X is green – the same shade of green, the same style as the successful singer’s album. “This is currently the easiest way to address the target group of under-30s,” writes CNN. And it seems to be working. Harris fans are spreading numerous posts on social media in which they put green filters over photos and videos of the 59-year-old politician.

But not everything is “brat”. Other Harris memes also enlivened the Democrats’ election campaign online and are currently experiencing a “triumphant comeback”, writes the New York Times. Video sequences that Harris opponents previously shared on social media channels to denigrate the vice president are now being used by her fans to celebrate her. For example, an excerpt from a speech from 2023. Harris had said at the time that everything in life is in context. She quoted her mother as saying: “I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. Do you think you just fell out of a coconut tree?”

The video has been shared many times online since Harris’ candidacy began. Her supporters are also spreading emojis of coconuts and palm trees as a “sign of support,” writes the Washington Post.
