Barely a week after his triumph in Gstaad, Matteo Berrettini (Ita) is aiming for his next tennis title: The former world number six celebrated his ninth singles victory in a row in the semifinals of the Generali Open in Kitzbühel with a 6:4, 6:4 win against the German Yannick Hanfmann and qualified for today’s final (12.45 p.m., Servus TV).
“I’m overjoyed, it couldn’t be going much better,” said Berrettini, who will face Frenchman Hugo Gaston. His opponent Facundo Diaz Acosta (Arg) gave up at 1:6, 0:2.
