Mass accident on A1 involving five vehicles: “Not without risk in this heat”

Five vehicles were involved in the accident
The accident site was closed in the direction of travel for about an hour, said the head of operations

The fire departments of Laakirchen, Steyrermühl, Rutzenmoos and Wiesen were alerted to a rescue operation on the Westautobahn on Saturday afternoon at 12 noon. Operations manager Jürgen Sturm from the Laakirchen fire department reported that the high temperatures made conditions even more difficult.

“Five vehicles were involved in the accident. One injured person was cared for by the rescue service and taken to hospital,” Sturm said in an interview with the OÖN. The emergency helicopter “Martin 3” was on site. With the help of a drone from the Laakirchen fire department, the emergency services were able to get an overview of the situation (see picture).
