Tarek William Saab denounced a cyber attack on the CNE

Saab linked the opposition leader, Maria Corina Machadowith this alleged hack that sought to adulterate the election results.

“The main person involved in this attack would be the citizen Lester Toledo (…) along with him, the fugitive from Venezuelan justice appears as involved Leopoldo Lopez and Maria Corina Machado“, the Attorney General accused.

“Fortunately this action was stopped, it was avoided”“They did not want to delay the announcement of the results, they wanted to adulterate the voting records themselves,” said Saab, explaining.

According to the official, the cyber attack was launched from North Macedonia.

He also attributed the alleged offensive to López and Toledo, two exiled politicians, and to Machado, who, although he did not compete for the presidency, campaigned across the country on behalf of Gonzalez.

For his part, Leopoldo López, based in Spain, has responded to Saab’s claims through his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter): “The only TRUTH is that yesterday Edmundo won by a landslide (70/30) and you set up a FRAUD. Let’s be clear, this chapter is just beginning and all of Venezuela is with Edmundo González and María Corina Machado.”

“These thieves are completely wrong if they think that the people will sit back and do nothing in the face of FRAUD. The people know that they were robbed, and that every Venezuelan who voted yesterday was robbed. The 70/30 beating that Edmundo and MCM gave Maduro is undeniable”he concluded.

In contrast, the president Nicolas Maduro He accused the opposition of trying to foment a coup d’état: “We saw this film. It is a similar script and the protagonists are the same: on the one hand the people who want democracy, peace, prosperity and progress. On the other hand, the hate-filled elite with a counterrevolutionary and fascist project tied to the American empire”

For the moment, Saab has not announced an arrest warrant against Machado, although his complaint is likely to provoke even more criticism from the international community, which would join the requests of the United States and several Latin American countries for him to give an account of the vote.

Added to that, he also mentioned that 60 incidents have been recorded during the electoral process and they occurred 17 arrestswhere the most recurrent cases were for the destruction of electoral material, with 32 cases.

That is why the Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation and has appointed the 38th and 74th National Prosecutors. “who are in charge of carrying out the relevant investigations to find those responsible.”
