As the reigning runner-up, Union Gurten will begin the 2024/2025 season of the Regionalliga Mitte tomorrow (6 p.m.) with an away game against newly promoted Wildon. After the four-hour bus ride, the Gurten team wants to get their first three points of the season in southern Styria. “Wildon has strengthened itself very well and also held its own for a long time in the cup against Bundesliga side Blau-Weiß Linz. It is Wildon’s first home game in the Regionalliga, so they will go to work with the appropriate motivation. If we want to get something tangible, we have to invest a lot,” says Gurten coach Peter Madritsch.
