The emergency doctor tried to resuscitate the man, but ultimately all help came too late for an 80-year-old after an accident on Thursday morning. The pensioner from the Freistadt district lost control of his Renault while driving on the B123 in the municipality of Ried in der Riedmark (Perg district). The car veered off the road to the right and hit a tree.

Witnesses rushed to the driver’s aid. However, their immediate first aid measures and the emergency doctor’s attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. The 80-year-old died at the scene of the accident from his serious injuries, police announced in the evening.
