The president’s campaign has begun, Yamandú Orsi responded to Luis Lacalle Pou’s chicanery

The former mayor of Cannelloni, Yamandú Orsi, shot the president Luis Lacalle Pou – who questioned his absence during an event for Exporter’s Day – and assured that the president had already begun the campaign.

During his speech outside of protocol at the activity organized by the Union of Exporters of Uruguay (UEU), within the framework of this week’s sector day, the president questioned the fact that the presidential candidate did not participate, although he did so without giving names.

“I was not one of the best students. When I didn’t go to an exam and I acted like a jerk, it was because I had wasted almost all the papers,” said the president in relation to the questions from the coalition, stating that the Frente Amplio is hiding Orsi.

Orsi’s response

In response to this, the presidential candidate assured that Lacalle Pou had already begun his campaign. “If there was anything missing to understand what is happening, it is the appearance of the president in the electoral campaign. We did not agree that there were four and one panels, but now there are not four, there are five. The president’s campaign has begun,” he assured in a press conference.

In that sense, he questioned whether the president had already begun his Campaign for the 2029 electionsor if he actually underestimates his coalition candidates so much that he is forced to appear. “Either he greatly underestimates the candidates he has, and he appeared. Or we are not in 2024 and we are thinking about the 2029 campaign,” he said.

“People’s problems are elsewhere. The president is too concerned about where I am. It is not good for him to get involved in the campaign,” he said, adding that what is important at the moment is not whether he participates in events or not.

The Broad Front is the favorite in the polls
