Fast charger: Expensive, but prices remain stable

Up to 75 kW, for example, one hour of charging at Energie AG still costs 32.50 euros (billed on a minute basis).

Ionity is also sticking to the 78 cents per kilowatt hour. This price range applies to the 150 kilowatt stations.

The Austrian pioneer in fast chargers, Smatrics, continues to charge 45 cents per minute on the 50 kW stations and 95 cents per minute on the ultra-fast chargers (HPC – High-Power-Charging) with more than 50 kilowatts. If the customer pays a monthly basic fee, the expensive tariff is reduced by around 30 cents per minute.

Smatrics: kWh billing

Smatrics itself is not aiming for a price increase, but is working on switching from time to fairer service billing. “However, due to the calibration law in Austria, the legal basis is still missing,” says Brunhild Gabriel, spokeswoman for the Viennese company. Gabriel assumes that the change will be successful this year. How much Smatrics will then charge per kilowatt hour has not yet been determined.
