A traffic accident on Sunday at around 9:30 a.m. in the municipality of Niederwaldkirchen (Rohrbach district) ended in death: A 77-year-old driver from the Rohrbach district lost control of her car for unknown reasons while driving towards St. Ulrich. She first drove into the oncoming lane, then veered off Niederwaldkirchner Straße to the right and crashed into the garden wall of a single-family house next to the road.
Resuscitation efforts unsuccessful
Drivers following behind reacted immediately and freed the unconscious pensioner from the crashed car. One of the witnesses – the driver of a “meals on wheels” service – immediately began resuscitation measures, which the emergency doctor, firefighters and rescue service continued shortly afterwards. Their efforts were ultimately in vain: the woman died at the scene of the accident from her serious injuries, police announced on Sunday afternoon.
