The fire departments of Peilstein im Mühlkreis, Kirchbach, Julbach and Oepping were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. The glow of the fire was visible from afar as they approached, so reinforcements were called for immediately. A total of 13 fire departments with 180 colleagues were deployed.
The fire broke out in a Production hall which was already fully ablaze 15 minutes later when the fire brigade arrived. Police and the Red Cross were also on site.
Breathing apparatus teams were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent buildings and the adjacent forest. Above all, the wood storage area had to be protected.

Among other things, water for firefighting was obtained from the nearby Kleine Mühl and from reservoirs provided for this purpose. The steep meadow adjacent to the building made it easier to fight the fire from above. A crane was also used. The fire was brought under control in the late evening. Three fire departments are currently still on site.
