He College of Accountants, Economists and Administrators of Uruguay (Cceau) warned of the existence of increasing indebtedness in the agricultural sector as a side effect of the historic drought which devastated the national (and regional) countryside between the years 2022 and 2023.
For this reason, the Cceau will organize the I Binational Agricultural Conferencetogether with the Argentina (XIII Argentina – IX Uruguay), where exchanges will take place around the problem. The event will be hybrid and will take place on September 5, 6 and 7 at the Parque de Minas, in the department of Lavalleja.
The president of the Cceau, Cristina Freireexplained to the press that, at present, we are seeing “the consequence of the drought” and how it impacted on that “the agriculture “This is one of the reasons why we are exchanging knowledge with our Argentine colleagues, in order to jointly obtain better tools to deal with the crisis and the sector,” he explained about the event that will bring together more than 3,000 professionals from the agricultural and economic sectors of both countries.
Likewise, the 1st Binational Agricultural Conference will address topics such as market analysis, trusts, new technologies applied to agricultureand the perspectives of public policies that aim to analyze the different problems of said sector.
The role of accountants and economists in agricultural investment processes
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), Juan Ignacio Buffasaid that the binational meeting will be an exchange that will highlight “the fundamental work of accountants, administrators and economists in the investment and development processes of agricultural companies as pillars in the management of public policies with the aim of generating a productive leap.”
In addition to the Cceau, the Argentine Federation of Professional Councils of Economic Sciences and the Professional Council of Economic Sciences of the province of Santa Fe (Chamber I) will be present at the Conference.
