First it was Guillermo Moreno who praised the nationalist ideology of Victoria Villarruel. Then he joined Sergio Berni to highlight the vice president’s coincidences: “I see a Peronist and I want her on my team.” This simmering clamor for the running mate of Javier Milei which began to expand and today added Jose Mayanshead of the Peronist bloc, was the one who came out to break Cristina de Kirchner on social media: “We are going to ask for a psychiatric examination from those who say that Villarruel is a Peronist.”

Mayans had already shown his good rapport with Villarruel during the debate on the new retirement mobility in the Senate, where he joked with the vice president about “jamoncito,” the nickname he gave to Javier Milei. And today he surprised with more praise for the head of the Upper House.
And he went further: “We need to deepen our friendship.” This spontaneous affinity of Villarruel, who perceives himself as a Peronist, increases as he strengthens his differences with the President based on an agenda of discord that has already brought them face to face over the lack of funding for public education, the integration of the Supreme Court of Justice, the increase in allowances for senators, the visit of deputies from La Libertad Avanza to genocidaires in the Ezeiza prison, his marginalization from the areas of Security and Defense, his alleged proximity to Mauricio Macri and his distance from Karina Milei.
Praise for Victoria Villarruel
Today, Mayans, whose bench had already been broken by Cristina de Kirchner when she appointed Juliana Di Tullio as head of Unidad Ciudadana, a Kirchnerist sub-bloc within the PJ, went further in his rapprochement with the vice president by stating that “Villarruel is ideologically a little closer to us than to Milei.”
The national senator for Formosa added in the interview with Perfil that “with respect to the role of the State, we have a vision that I believe she shares, because even recently, when she received a diploma, she said that she is proud to be a public university. That is what she defines.”
In March, Sergio Berni, former security minister under Axel Kicllof, had also praised the vice president by saying: “Dr. Villarruel is a political figure who has autonomy of thought and I celebrate it.“I wish our people had the same autonomy of thought, instead of bowing their heads every day.”
Guillermo Moreno, former Secretary of Commerce for Néstor and Cristina Kirchner, involved in the reconstruction of Peronism, also had a positive view of Villarruel: “I am not going to deny her nationalism. What may happen is that a nationalism that encompasses the whole appears. What is being debated here is the nationalism of inclusion and the nationalism of exclusion… perhaps in this process of inclusion Let’s all end up being nationalists of inclusion“.
“Siren songs” of Peronism
The senator of La Libertad Avanza for Formosa, Francisco Paoltroni, made radio statements this Saturday, where he referred to the internal situation of the bloc and the situation of the vice president Victoria Villarruelto whom he asked that ”Don’t listen to those siren songs” of Peronism. “I don’t like the confrontation between Villarruel and Mayans (head of the Unión por la Patria bench). I would ask the Vice President to plug her ears with wax and not listen to those siren songs.” In his criticism of Peronism, he also launched darts towards Guillermo Moreno, whom he called “disastrous, a textbook impoverisher.”
