Gmundner fell for “Broker” from Hong Kong – savings gone

The unknown perpetrators contacted the victim from the Gmunden district in writing via Whats App from July 2021. After a certain Li Na won the victim’s trust, the victim, at the suggestion of Li Na, allowed himself to be carried away by opening a trading account on the website “andersfx.com” with a broker called CHEN.

Since the Upper Austrian was able to achieve or see high profits relatively quickly on the imaginary trading account, he invested all of his savings in it. When he wanted to withdraw money from his trading account, he was asked to pay the capital gains tax of around 12,000 euros applicable in Austria. He did the same, since then there has been no contact with the perpetrator or perpetrators.

The victim suffered a total loss of several thousand euros as a result of several partial transfers. The transfers were all carried out using a crypto code. Communication was always in writing via messages with the Hong Kong area code.

Warning the police

If you receive such messages, do not transfer money under any circumstances, be careful and suspicious. The platforms are very professionally designed and initially fake high profits in order to entice the victims to make further payments. The money paid is not invested, but disappears in the criminal network. Make a note of the phone number you will be contacted on and report it to the nearest police station.
