The man was German and 26 years old. He had also attacked the police officers who went to arrest him.
German police officers shot dead a man on Tuesday who had threatened passers-by with knives in the city of Moersjust four days later the stabbing of several people in the neighbouring town of Solingen.
Police reported that emergency services were alerted early in the afternoon that a man had “attacked and threatened several passers-by” in that city in the west of the country.
Once there, the agents managed to locate the suspect, who – according to them – “He attacked them with two knives in his hands.”
Faced with the man’s attack, the officers opened fire, “mortally wounding”” to the individuala 26-year-old German citizen. They also reported that no other people were injured.
Germany is still in shock from the attack that occurred on Friday, when Three people were killed and eight others were stabbed at a festival in Solingen.
Who would be the author of the attack, a 26-year-old Syrian suspected of having links to the jihadist organization Islamic State (IS)turned himself in to authorities just two days later.
