If it is up to the plant breeders who are currently collecting orders from nurseries, garden centers and hardware stores for the coming gardening year, then we will be looking at lots of pink flowers in 2025.
Euphorbia “Flamingo” – the heat-resistant spurge: This balcony flower has been known for several years as magic snow or “Diamond Frost”. There were a few attempts in the pink variant, but these did not bloom intensively. Now the breeders have achieved a breakthrough: “Flamingo” has a strong growth, many flowers and is extremely heat-resistant.
Fan flower “Pink Blessing” – it doesn’t get any more robust than this: Everyone knows it in blue as a robust and flowering balcony flower, now it will conquer our balconies and flowerbeds in pink. If you fertilize it sufficiently, you will have a splendid display of flowers until late autumn.
Million Bells “Bumble Bee Hot” – an insect magnet: They are called magic bells, million bells or by the botanical name “Calibrachoa”. This new variety is not only characterized by its already well-known wonderful flowering, but also by its attractiveness to bumblebees and bees.
Carnations – retro in a pot: “Tasha Pink”, “Sinclar Magenta” and “Cremarena” are three new pot carnations that once again stand out for their intense fragrance and particularly long flowering period. Carnations are a little picky. They don’t want to be kept too wet, but not too dry either. If everything is right, they’ll do well and will last a long time.
Pelargonium “Marcada violet” – as ground cover: Many years ago a ground-covering pelargonium came onto the market, and now there is one again. With its strong violet (or pink) flowers, it is a cross between the upright and hanging pelargoniums. Extremely robust and ideal for beds or grave plantings.
New tomato – strawberry tomato with meters of fruit: This tomato only has a limited connection to strawberries. It is the shape of the fruit that gives it this name. Some growers also call this small-fruited and very robust tomato a heart tomato. What is unique is the flower or fruit cluster. It grows up to a meter long – the first fruits are already ripening at the top while the plant is still flowering at the other end. Up to 50 fruits or more can be found on a single panicle.
