VW is expanding the portfolio of its top electric model, the ID.7, and is launching the GTX, the high-end version, onto the market. It’s classy, no question about it, and powerful too. The drive, which consists of two motors, produces 250 kW (340 hp): a 210 kW motor at the rear and an 80 kW motor at the front. Which makes it clear: the GTX is a true all-wheel drive vehicle. Volkswagen calls it an electric 4Motion drive.
Suitable for long distances
In terms of concept, the ID.7 is similar to the VW Passat: high-quality materials, suitable for long journeys, attractive design without frills – suitable for business. The Wolfsburg-based company no longer offers a Passat sedan, but only the station wagon. Both versions of the VW ID.7, however, are available.
The powerful performance of course requires a sportier DCC chassis and its control systems. The driving dynamics manager, in conjunction with the electronic differential lock (XDS+), the revised all-wheel drive controller, the ESC sport mode and the newly tuned chassis, ensures a distinctly sporty, but linear and predictable driving behavior.
