The prosecution does not believe that the hidden camera was installed in the changing room of the Linz dental practice because an unknown thief was up to mischief. Because according to the criminal complaint, the device was positioned and aligned in such a way that the now 59-year-old dentist was able to take a look “at the genitals of his filmed employees”. Eight such videos can be found in the act.
The accused must therefore answer in court today for the offense of “data processing with intent to cause damage”. For this there is a risk of up to one year imprisonment. But much more serious is the accusation that the defendant is said to have hoarded thousands of child pornography depictions. The investigators discovered them during a house search in February 2021: hard drives, USB sticks and CDs with illegal recordings of girls under the age of 14. He is said to have owned some of them since 2000. The penalty in this case is up to two years imprisonment. So far, the man has not made a confession, according to the Linz public prosecutor.
Drugs for minors
Today is not the first day of the dentist’s life in the dock. As early as August 2021, he was found guilty of allegedly passing drugs on to underage teenagers. The verdict – five months probation and a fine of 3,000 euros – is not final because the defendant has appealed. The file is at the Linz Higher Regional Court. The case of the dentist on the wrong track began when the Linz police investigated the drug environment and arrested an 18-year-old dealer from the Salzkammergut.
The young man unpacked: he had got a dentist 30 grams of speed and got a seal in return. In addition, the doctor had also ordered cocaine from him, claimed the young detainee.
When the officers carried out the search warrant, they actually found drugs in the 59-year-old’s apartment. The suspicion was confirmed that the then 58-year-old should have provided the drugs to his 17-year-old dental assistant and their friends. The drugs are also said to have been consumed in his apartment.
In the first trial, the defendant tried to portray this as a good deed. His apprentice, then 16, had major drug problems. He allowed her to smoke marijuana in his apartment. Because: “If she had not done it with me, it would have been somewhere else with people who are not doing her good,” the defendant claimed in court in the summer. “I got harder drugs straight away.” His client was “a grandfather figure” for the young people, according to the dentist’s defense lawyer. He “just wanted to help”.
