They raided the house where the president of Peru had meetings outside the official agenda

That house was used by Castillo to hold some meetings last November, in which it is suspected that the then private secretary of the president, Bruno Pacheco, and the presidential adviser Karelim López participated, among others.

The prosecution is investigating whether Pacheco and López favored a consortium in the tender for the construction of a road bridge in the northern department of San Martín for just over 58 million dollars, according to news agencies AFP and Sputnik.

In the raid, prosecutors tried to get the property owners to provide them with the original, unedited videos recorded by security cameras on November 19, the date on which they believe the meetings between Pacheco and López took place.

Castillo is also involved in the case, accused of having “improperly and indirectly intervened” in the process, but the investigation into his alleged responsibility was suspended until the end of his term, in July 2026, due to “absolute immunity that transcends the criminal procedural scope ”provided by the Constitution.
